The Creative Championship Cup.

 
A 2-2 draw on the final group game of the Championship Cup sees us progress into the semifinals of the competition with a total of eight (8) points in four games.
 
 
Ademola Akibu and Wasiu Balogun scored to put us in the lead twice as Broad City came from behind twice in the game.
 
 
Broad City kicked off and straight into the 2nd min they attempted on goal but Kabiru was well placed to pick the ball safely.
 
GOAL! Ademola Akibu gets our opener when he headed in from a  Sadik's cross from the left flank in the 8th min.
 
 GOAL! Broad City in an instant response saw them equalise in the 9th min after a miskick in defense by Owopetu which sets up the striker with Kabiru.
 
 
Broad City went off in an attack that almost got them a second in the 14th min when a cross went inside the box from the left and the resulting volley went off target.
 
SUB - Owopetu was taken off for Alfred in the 27th min for our first change.
 
 
Nwocha with perfect curling from a direct freekick towards the far left of the goal was saved and punched off for a corner kick in the 29th min.
 
 
GOAL! Balogun with a diving header in the 30th min connected with Al-Hassan's cross from the right flank to get is back in the lead.
 
Into the last five minutes, Broad City was through on close range but the forward sent his header wide in the 40th min.
 
SUB - Nwocha was subbed off due to an injury in the 44th min for Eya.
 
 
Another late opportunity for Broad City to level before the break saw an attempt shot wide in the 44th min after the forward was through on goal with Kabiru.
 
 
HALFTIME - We take the lead at the break...
 
GOAL! Broad City scores to equalise in the 51st min.
 
J.Blessing tried out a shot from outside the box which went slightly high off-target in the 58th min.
 
 
SUB - Three changes came up in the 65th min; Adiele on for Ibeleme, Adeoti for Oyeniyi and Alowonle for Sadik.
 
 
Ademola went close for a brace and our third in the 78th min when Balogun cuts in from the left into his right foot sending in a cross which the incoming striker met low but went wide.
 
Broad City went the other way in the 79th min and a shot from outside went at goal but Kabiru was able to punch off for a corner kick.
 
Yellow - Adiele and a Broad City player were both booked in succession for a foul in the 83rd min.
 
 
 
FULL-TIME -  It ended 2-2 which gives the Blues a straight qualification into the cup semis.

BROAD CITY FC Vs GBAGADA FC.

The Creative Championship Cup.

Into our final group game of the Championship Cup, we go up against Broad City in a bid to secure a spot in the semifinals of the competition.

ABOUT OUR OPPONENT.

Broad City kicked off their campaign at the cup game with a win and continued with another win in their second getting them to six (6) points in the group.
The Broad boys couldn't get at a point to get them in a secured place after losing their third game.

SECURING SECURING THE SPOT.

After a long week for the team playing in different competitions, we've gotten to another deciding moment that can be in our control. A point is all we need to secure a passage through the group into the last four of the league cup competition of the TCC.
 
Our job is not yet done for 2021 until that is settled. to put up a big show as the game is also our final official match of the calendar year and we want to do this in the very best way we can by securing our spot.
Our last game in the Lagos FA Cup has shown so much quality, character and tenacity the team is made up of and with the confidence within the group, we'll be raring to go for this one.

ABOUT THE MATCH.

The Blues are top of the log in the group with seven (7) points with Broad City on six (6) and winning a point off the game gets us qualified.
Broad City will be looking to avoid a defeat as they are strongly in it going into the game and there is all to play for from both sides.

WHEN AND WHERE?

The kick-off is at 9 am at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne on Friday 17th.
